Copernicus Internship 2020
21 Inspirational Future Leaders
In addition to our traditional international business internships, here at Copernicus, we have created a fascinating new internship opportunity for a limited number of under-graduates or postgraduates to take their first steps along the road to becoming a management consultant.
At the recent Consultancy Conference HR Director Greg North explained the basis of the concept and how it can create long term opportunities for successful applicants. “Every year for as long as I can remember we receive CVs and applications from a large number of highly credible and talented individuals looking for an internship. Like most professional service businesses, office space is at a premium and while we may have the work opportunities, we do not always have the physical space to accommodate more than a couple of interns. The creation of a virtual workspace allows an intern to work with us from anywhere in the world, just so long as they have a laptop, a webcam and a fast enough connection. Linked into our intranet the intern can contribute to and be a party to project work without actually being in our offices. Adapting to the new demands placed on us by Covid-19 we ran a trial project last year with great success, now, for 2021-22 we will be actively seeking projects which would be suitable for an intern to work on, supervised by a senior consultant. It’s the experience of an internship, but without the use of the office coffee machine!”
Is this as beneficial to an intern as a standard placement? “It’s better than no placement” replied Greg. “The work experience is the same, but without the daily physical interaction with colleagues, instead meetings are done via Skype, TEAMS, Zoom or other conference channels. It works, and it offers opportunities that would not be possible otherwise”.
Adding international resources to your consultancy practice
Consultancy Fee Income Feast or famine? Sound familiar? Here’s a solution…
You are prospecting for new business but not earning fees, you are delivering a project and earning fees but don’t have the time to prospect and build a pipeline. Or, you have clients that require additional professional consultancy services either outside your skill-set or out of your geographic reach and therefore can’t monetize the opportunity. For the first time in three years, Copernicus is once again open to cooperating with new consultants as affiliates under our fee share operating model. Take a look and if it’s interesting to you, we look forward to hearing from you.

Copernicus Business Evangelist
A Consultant with a difference
We are looking for 2 further talented, experienced executives with strong business skills to join Copernicus to work in the UK and additional consultants internationally, as strategic business advisors, in 2021. You must be capable of offering practical business advice, skills and support to small and medium-sized companies and subsidiaries or sales offices of international companies or public sector bodies, both UK and international, in equal measure. Able to work independently or jointly on projects with our own government bodies or those of our international partners as part of a multi-cultural team.
International business experience is preferable but not a prerequisite. Language skills are a bonus but lack of them is not a hindrance. Being articulate, numerate, smart in appearance and literate are however essential. As is a sense of humour! We work hard but we enjoy what we do and we share in the success of our clients.
However we are not for everyone, we are straight-talking and pragmatic. Solution orientated with a “glass half full” attitude. As a Copernicus consultant, it is your task to guide our clients to success. You will have experienced the highs and lows of success and failure and learned from both. You will see opportunities where others see problems and will have the capability to find solutions where others see none.
Established in 1999 Copernicus is a unique resource of executive business experience available to business owners, directors and international trade bodies worldwide. Our services include, but are not limited to, strategic planning and implementation, international business matchmaking, succession planning, acquisition identification, due diligence and integration, grant identification and assistance and management training. In respect of the public sector, we undertake trade mission services, “partnering” and trade event management. We are a one-stop-shop to guide businesses to success, however, if we do not believe we are right for a client we will not embark on a project. We are results-driven and at all times bring energy and drive to our work that enthuses our clients and influences our results. Our pricing model for clients extends to profit participation and/or equity. We are a consultancy that means business.
Now operating in more than 42 countries and opening further international offices each year, Copernicus will be represented in every major market area by 2030.
As a first step towards being part of the success story, please e-mail your CV along with a covering letter setting out why you believe you have the skills, knowledge and drive necessary to be a Copernicus Consultant.
