These days it's its tough out there. As if it's not hard enough to attract and keep customers - there are a whole band of people eager to get your money, who are only too willing to take your money and spend it on your behalf in the name of ‘marketing’.
What you get from Copernicus may not always be politically correct, but it will save you time, money and generate new opportunities for you. Straight talking offends a few people but your financial success and quality of life are too important to be diplomatic about. Lets start by setting out some of the ways you can be enticed to waste money.
This is the myth (lie) that drains millions out of the bank accounts of countless small business owners and sends that cash directly into the bank accounts of the big publishers. Fact. Most small business advertising does not work. That doesn't mean you should never do it. Copernicus will ensure that what you do, you do it brilliantly. It does mean that you should never, ever feel pressured to advertise. You should also be aware that there are at least ten other Marketing approaches we would use first before going anywhere near traditional Advertising. Above all, if you're not certain that your advertising is working, stop it.
Just not true. Have you looked at Google's homepage recently? I can give you countless examples of average designed websites that out perform more expensive, professional sites by a factor of ten. Some of my own web pages leave something to be desired but we strike a chord with our market, the under pressure, under resourced SME. The internet is an information tool. It's not a beauty contest.
Whoever wrote that book was almost certainly a lecturer on business affairs. They certainly did not have their own successful business. Yes, you should treat all your customers wonderfully. No they are not all the same and they're certainly not always right. If you don't treat your top 20% of customers very differently to the other 80%, you are losing a fortune.
This group of individuals come close to the advertising sales people in creating a very strong desire in me to want to break my golf clubs on someone (obviously that would be against our Copernicus Commitments so I have the utmost of control). Google operates on a mathematical algorithm. Search engine 'experts' are supposed to understand enough of that algorithm to do things to get you high up on the search engines. They can't guarantee a specific position but if they're not willing to guarantee the first five or six listings, run a mile.
One of the key things that Copernicus will achieve for you is your ability and willingness to be able to charge the prices that you deserve. There are numerous ways to do this without losing business. For now, please understand that the majority of people do not buy on price, even if they tell you they do. It's a huge myth and once you really understand this, it can play a big part in opening the doors to financial success.
