A fantastic international hub, twice Copenhagen has picked up the prize for ”Scandinavian City of the Future”.
It is Financial Times’ fDi Magazine that has designated Copenhagen as the Scandinavian city with the greatest future and the Danish capital was in fact a clear winner of the titles ”Scandinavian City of the Future” and ”Northern City of the Future” last year.
More than 150 cities and regions are competing in order to be the “title city of the future” and it is an independent panel of judges who ranks the locations from 28 individual criteria across seven main categories. All leading Scandinavian cities have been in competition.
Copenhagen has done well in all seven categories.
"Danish economy is at the top and last year the Region was third in Europe with regard to attracting investments," states O. Rolf Larssen, managing director at Copenhagen Capacity about some of the reasons why Copenhagen has done so well in the competition.
"Moreover, the research environment is strong, the infrastructure is excellent, and Copenhagen is considered an attractive city to live in for international top executives."
Also, the panel of judges attaches importance to a good IT and telecommunications infrastructure, availability of well-educated and flexible labour and that the companies are assured a high-level of quality in proportion to the expenses
