In practice: Canada now charges a 15%, 25% or 50% surtax on about CAD 27.6 billion of US-origin goods, from steel and appliances to clothing and cosmetics. The test is US origin, so UK-origin goods are outside it, which gives UK suppliers a price advantage on the listed lines. Two cautions: US-made goods remain caught even if shipped to Canada via another country, and if you supply Canada from a US warehouse or include US components, confirm the origin of each line with a broker.

Ukraine trade guide
Market synopsis
Entering Ukraine — UK Exporter Edition. A practical preview for UK exporters considering Ukraine — a market trading under active wartime conditions, backed by a genuinely substantial, dedicated UK government financial support package and the UK's own preferential trade agreement with Ukraine — one of 101 markets in the Copernicus Trade Guide Library.
Ukraine's trade-agreement status, Black Sea routing and UKEF headroom have all moved on since some widely-circulated assumptions were first formed — and one of them (the trade agreement point) was flatly wrong in wide circulation, not just dated. The full guide converts each requirement into a checkable workflow, and every material claim has been checked against primary sources, then re-verified through a second, independent human-verification pass (Layer-2) — which is exactly how the trade-agreement error, the understated Black Sea caveat and the UKEF headroom gap were caught and corrected.
